Title Program: Promoting Environmental Entrepreneurship in Piloted Woredas of Tigray

(EEP) under Agreement type: Cooperative Agreement No. AID-663-A-13-00001 ;at Pilot woredas: Raya Azebo, Enderta, Degua Temebn and Kolla Temben

Objective: To enhance the livelihoods of rural unemployed, landless youth and poor women through increased production and productivity of rehabilitated and reclaimed hillside lands using proven, affordable, and sustainable technologies and approaches.

Title: MULU MARPs HIV Prevention Project

Objectives :MULU HIV Prevention will contribute to national goals by delivering the following three results:

1. Prevent new HIV infections by reducing behavioral risk factors among most-at-risk populations and other highly vulnerable populations.

2. Strengthen community level  systems and structures to support combination prevention.

3.Increase the capacity of GoE to lead HIV prevention interventions that are based on the local epidemiology of new infections.

Title : Scaling up of the Community Participation in Ensuring Effective, Efficient and Quality Basic Public Service Delivery.

The main objective of the project is to Contribute to the empowerment of the community to access quality and equitable basic services delivery in Eight woredas.

Title :Eliminating illegal migration and human trafficking through community awareness creation and capacity building intervention

Objectives :creating awareness on the community and migrants on the impact of illegal migration and improve the capacity of local government and CBOs to reverse the impacts of illegal migration and human trafficking in the vulnerable Woredas of Saesie Tsaeda

Emba, Enticho, Alamata ,Raya Azebo, Kelite Awlaelo, Atsebi Wemberta and Mekelle two sub city (northern and Hawelity) through community awareness and strengthening and capacitating local CSOs, CBOs, local government and communities in collaboration with government, media and community based organizations

 

In general the project contributed to the efforts of the government to illuminate illegal migration through strengthening and capacitating local CSOs, CBOs, local government and communities.

The specific results of the project was :

 Awareness of the youth, community and local governments on the consequence of illegal migration will be created

 Networking of partners at regional and

 

woreda levels to response to the illegal migration in partnership established

 The existing gaps in law enforcement and awareness of legal bodies regarding illegal migration and human traffickers and private employment exchange service agencies will be solved.

 Reduced skill gap and awareness of the youth in the aim of increasing employment opportunity and creativity in local labor market

Improved institutional capacity of the participating CSOs, the Regional and District Committee, local governments, religious leaders

Title: Improving the reproductive health status of Adolescents

Objective: To create awareness on the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS through a continuous and uninterrupted educational activity and mitigate the impact of the disease through counseling and OVCs school support.

Location: T/Maichew and T/Koraro weredas

 TYA reached 169009 & 161785 persons with HIV/AIDS & ASRH messages respectively

 facilitated the involvement of 6493 community members in 936 community conversation sessions,

 counseled 9142 clients,

 provided VCT referral to 774 persons,

 Persons referred to STI 218

 25 OVCS supported with IGAS and 40 OVCS supported with school materials in Tahtay Koraro and Tahtay Maichew weredas using 60 peer educators, 15 counselors and

 21 WAC trained members.
